The weapon was adopted in 1930.īy the middle of the decade, the Hungarian Army had been in need of extra pistols for its small arms inventory to which Frommer modified the Design 29M to introduce the Model 37M of 1937. The tool depended on a blowback system of procedure and featured an exterior sludge hammer but was usually an enhancement of the complicated 12M/19M line. In the 1920s, the Hungarian Army began searching for a simplified product to provide as an formal sidearm and Frommer developed the Design 29M of 1929 for this objective. In program, the 12M/19M lines proved complex yet functional. In the post-war years, with the Austró-Hungarian Empire no longer an set up national organization, the newly-formed Hungarian Military used the same pistol though under the status of 'Gun 19M' in 1919.
